Citizenship Day
Another way to combine community education and direct services is through our annual Citizenship Day. As a member of the Santa Clara County Citizenship Collaborative, we are one of the lead agencies who organize Citizenship Day. This is a countywide event that offers citizenship assistance for free. These free services include citizenship orientations in various languages, eligibility assessment, application assistance, photos, referrals to ESL/Citizenship classes, and legal consultation if necessary.

In October 22, 2005 SIREN was the main organizer of Citizenship Day which was held at Most Holy Trinity Church in East San Jose. Orientations were in English, Cambodian, Farsi, Tagalog, Spanish, and Vietnamese. This event attracted approximately 1,000 participants who came to learn more about the requirements, benefits, and process of naturalization as well as to take advantage of the free services we provide
