Patricia Diaz, Executive Director
Patricia Diaz is SIREN's newest staff member, having started at SIREN in September 2005 as its Executive Director. Patricia comes to SIREN from the statewide Latino Coalition for a Healthy California (LCHC), where she was formerly their Policy Director. At LCHC she was responsible for educational and advocacy efforts in promoting, monitoring and advancing state legislation and regulations that affect the health and well-being of the Latino community by engaging and involving community members, organizations, and policymakers. Patricia has extensive experience in the areas of policy development, advocacy, research, and campaign development. Patricia was the California Policy Analyst with the National Council of La Raza (NCLR) before joining LCHC and prior to that, she was SIREN's first Policy Director.

Martha Campos, Community Education and Leadership Development Director
Martha Campos currently serves as the Community Education & Leadership Development Program Director at SIREN. Bilingual in Spanish and English, Ms. Campos currently oversees programs designed to promote immigrant education & opportunities to civic engagement in the community. She supervises the Comité Cesar Chavez organizing project in East San Jose where she develops leadership among immigrants and directs community empowerment projects. In addition she supervises the Promotoras de la Comunidad, an organizing project in Washington Guadalupe area, who are a group of Latina immigrant women working on health issues. In 2003, Martha was selected to participate in the national Immigrant Workers Freedom Ride where she traveled with other immigrants across the country and met with legislators in Washington DC in an effort to garner support for immigrant rights and reform. Prior to working at SIREN, Ms. Campos worked as a promotora (health worker) in the Casa en Casa Program, a community health access project serving the Mayfair neighborhood. Martha is also active in her church community where she serves as a lay minister and she is a graduate of the Institute of Leadership Minister host by the Diocesis of San Jose a course of three years long. Martha is from Mexico City, where she finalized her studies of Economy in the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico and came to this country in 1995.
Lucy Hernandez, Community Organizer, Comite Cesar Chavez
Lucy Hernandez started with SIREN as a PLUS Team Member through the AmeriCorps program in January 2004. She is currently the Community Organizer for SIREN's project Comité César Chávez, an immigrant led community-based project based in the Mayfair neighborhood in East San Jose. Her experience in the community includes mentoring inmates at Elmwood Correctional Facility, mentoring students at Foothill High School, volunteering at Resources for Families and Communities (RFC) and serving at Emergency Housing Consortium. She is currently attending Mission Community College and hopes to transfer to San José State University (SJSU) to pursue her degree in Sociology.
Ana Maria Ramírez, Community Organizar, Promotoras de la Comunidad
Ana Maria Ramírez started as a member of Promotoras de la Comunidad since June 2003. She recently got hired as a Community Organizer for SIREN's project Promotoras de la Comunidad, a group led by immigrant women that educate and organize Latina women in the Washington neighborhood. She has participated in various classes and volunteered in many community forums and various agencies and groups such as Healthy Families, Tierra Viva, Programa Migrante, Biblioteca Latinoamericana. She was recently nominated as President of DILAC, the parents committee for San Jose Unified School District. Ana Maria also works as a Peer Counselor at WIC and serves as a committee member for Healthy Families.
Tuan Nguyen, Immigrant Services Program Manager
Tuan was born in Vietnam and immigrated to the US in 1999 to be reunited with his wife and son. Tuan initially came to SIREN for assistance with the naturalization process and later returned as an intern. Eager to continue helping his community and other immigrants in Santa Clara County, he joined SIREN in the spring of 2006 as the Immigrant Services Program Manager. Tuan is trilingual in English, Vietnamese and French and is learning how to speak Spanish to better serve our clients. He was a lawyer in Vietnam and is currently pursuing a BA at San José State University in Social Work. Tuan also holds a degree in Information Technology (IT).
Mario Campos, Program Associate, Immigrant Services Program
Mario Campos joined SIREN in 2002. He provides information, outreach and education on citizenship, immigration, and public benefits for the Spanish-speaking community in Santa Clara County. He was born in El Salvador, is bilingual in Spanish and English and is active in his church and community.
Diana Jaregui, Program Associate, Immigrant Services Program
Diana Jauregui started at SIREN as a volunteer and has been employed part-time as an Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director since 2004. Diana is currently a senior at San Jose State University and is working towards her B.A. in Social Work. She assists with citizenship orientations as a volunteer, and is part of SIREN's volunteer team to educate and register voters.
